Internet scams are unimaginable says FBI

Internet scams are increasing day by day and each crime is just unimaginable says an FBI official. The scammers are creating sophisticated virus programs and putting people’s private information under threat. The scammers are at advantage since internet provides anonymity and their identification does not come under light. The number of internet scams almost doubled in 2009. The scams included false antivirus pop up ads, job site scams.

There would frequent pop ups in the computer suggesting that there are virus in the computer and would advertise anti virus software. When people click the antivirus and after payment nothing happens. Customer could not get help from the antivirus companies.

The Hitman scammer threatened the thousands of people through emails. They threatened to kidnap or kill the recipients or their loved ones if they did not meet their demands of ransom money. They wanted the money to be transferred through Western Union Money transfer, UK. To provide authenticity to the threat, they give the personal data of the recipient.
