Clock and their ages
Like the way the mankind had different eras and generation, there are eras and generation for many other things. Some of them being lifestyle, dress, articles used etc. While saying articles, we may be able to imagine the way our ancestors used stone to grind things. Those stone used were rough stone. Then they carved stone with a hole in the middle and used a club to grind things that powdered the ingredients better. Now we have mixers and grinders which can powder things in few seconds. Likewise, clocks also have seen many ages.
In olden times there were clocks which are now being called grandfather clocks. They are huge clocks inside wooden cupboards with exquisite art work done on the wooden frame. The dial of the clock were very big and the chimes were also very big and artistically done. It sought place in huge palaces and house of royal and rich men. It was an article of pride for them. Then came wall clocks which could be hung on the wall, which was suitable when the houses space shrunk. Now , it is the age of digital clock. And clock comes embedded in other electronic devices like the computer, mobile phones etc, that now there is no need to wear a watch.
