Bing it in!

If you are up to date with the search engine arena, you should have learned that Bing, the new Microsoft search engine, is generating a lot of noise and apparently it can be a good competition to Google. However, since search engine is not very “old” , there are still a lot of sites that are not indexed

bing

If you want to accelerate the process of indexing your site in Bing, the process is quite simple and consists of a few step.

1. Join the Bing webmaster site (the equivalent of Google Webmaster Tools). You need a Windows Live account to sign in (if you have hotmail, enter your username and password).
2. Enter the URL of your page and the address of your XML sitemap
3. Then you have to verify that indeed you are the owner of the page. You have two options: raising an XML file to your server or adding a meta tag verification. Choose the option that you feel is easiest.
4. Once validated, you will see many extra details on your page as the number of pages in your site indexed by Bing, links to your site, navigation problems identified, and so on.

And that’s all. It is super simple.

Magento CMS

Until recently, to develop basic websites (and not so basic) e-commerce sites, either for my own projects or for projects of clients i had used CMS’s relatively well known. I generally use OS Commerce, Joomla + Virtue Mart, WP E-Commerce (Extension for Wordpress), and the truth is they are all relatively good, but as I said, for projects of basic level. If you require more advanced features with custom features it is necessary to make some code modifications.

Fortunately, a couple of weeks ago I read some promising reviews on magenta for specialized e-commerce websites. I decided to try its latest version and I was pleasantly surprised by their excellent characteristics, but also caused me more headaches during the install process and settings.

I am very sure that this post is going to provide much help to all those who want to try this new CMS, and I’m going to go over the problems by myself and others have spent during the installation and configuration process.

Well, first, let us begin by reviewing the requirements to install Magento on our servers. The documentation provided for Magneto will guide you through the step by step process for installation.

Tell us how you liked the features of Magento and how it is better than the other CMSs.

New features in firefox 3

Experimenting a bit with Firefox 3, I realized these three new features, which share a special utility.

1. To duplicate a tab, press CTRL while dragging the tab you want to duplicate to one side.
2. To move a tab to another open window of Firefox, simply drag the tab to the new window. If you drag the tab and if it is the only tab open in the original window, the window will close automatically.
3. To select different sections of text / content at the same time, hold down CTRL while you make selections. Then you can copy and paste the selected content where you want.

Google Morroco hacked

The Moroccan version of Google, www.google.co.ma was hacked some time ago and this gives rise a series of questions. The authors of the attack are identified as PAKBugs and they have left a link to http://www.pakbugs.com/ a forum where topics touch technology, xploits, hacking and spam.

It seems that there is an increase in the number of attacks on Google servers, considering that just last month there were hacked version of Google Puerto Rico and Google Algeria.
